Galileo Foundation Sponsors Historic
Vatican Christmas Concert
Celebrating music, faith, and education with Pope Leo XIV
On December 12, 2025, the Galileo Foundation proudly sponsored the Vatican Christmas Concert held in the Paul VI Hall, where Maestro Riccardo Muti conducted Luigi Cherubini’s Mass for the Coronation of Charles X in the presence of Pope Leo XIV.
The concert, organised in collaboration with the Dicastery for Culture and Education and the Pontifical Foundation Gravissimum Educationis, marked the awarding of the 2025 Ratzinger Prize to Maestro Muti and celebrated the profound relationship between music, faith, and the dignity of the human person.
During his address, Pope Leo XIV explicitly thanked the Galileo Foundation for its support, recognising its commitment to education and its sponsorship of both the concert and the educational projects of the Gravissimum Educationis Foundation:
“Tonight’s concert is an opportunity to raise awareness and commitment to education. Millions of boys and girls around the world are excluded from any form of schooling.
For this reason, I welcome with hope the establishment of the Observatory on Inequality and Universal Access to Education, announced on the occasion of the recent Jubilee of Education.
The Dicastery for Culture and Education is rallying around this project all those who care about the education of young people, starting with the Galileo Foundation, which has expressed its support by sponsoring this evening and the educational projects of the Gravissimum Educationis Foundation.
Brothers and sisters, as Christmas approaches, I renew my invitation to persevere in prayer so that God may grant us the gift of peace. Upon all of you, and upon those who followed the concert via television, I heartily invoke the Lord’s blessing. Thank you.” – Pope Leo XIV
The evening united artistic excellence with a strong educational and social message, underscoring how beauty and culture can inspire responsibility, solidarity, and hope. As Christmas approaches, the concert also became an appeal for peace and a renewed commitment to ensuring access to education for every child.
The Galileo Foundation is honoured to have contributed to an event that affirms education and culture as essential paths toward the common good.
